Work on the book, Lighthouses around the Baltic Sea was begun in 2015 and completed in 2019.A total of 180 lighthouses were featured representing the finest of Baltic lighthouse technology from all of the countries which surround the Baltic Sea.The book has been published in Swedish and Finnish. Translation into English is in progress.

To be able to create a book without constraints is a privilege. To have a free hand in deciding its layout, print quality and form is rewarding. With regard to the creative process, this was governed by something entirely different. The images that were captured. But however you approach the photographic process, it is the way these pictures are presented – the size of the book, the quality of the paper, printing techniques, book binding and its graphic modus – that truly matters.
But technicalities aside, you can simply let the subject matter dictate its final outcome which was how this book came to be.
No one had previously documented navigation markers in this way before nor had their distinctive colors been captured for posterity. Therefore, it was obvious from the outset that the book would only do justice to its content if it was large, printed on a coarse paper and with a leather binding. Inevitably, this meant that both the photographer and the layout artist had to think slightly out of the box, but once ideas were turned into a tangible form a lasting documentation of this piece of maritime history was created.
